VCE Maths Methods Units 3&4
VCE Mathematical Methods Units 3 & 4 Tutoring: Master the VCAA Curriculum
![]()
Part of our weekly group class offering
VCE Mathematical Methods Units 3 & 4 covers functions, algebra, calculus and probability, the gateway subject for engineering, science and commerce degrees. TuteMax's Mathematical Methods tutoring builds genuine technique across both technology-free and CAS-based work, so Victorian students can handle any question style with confidence.
Our program is specifically designed to align with the VCAA Study Design, ensuring students are prepared for both School-Assessed Coursework (SACs) and the final end-of-year examinations.
VCE Mathematical Methods Unit 3 & 4 Curriculum & Weekly Schedule: What We Cover
Our curriculum covers all four areas of study in the progression required from Unit 3 to Unit 4.
Unit 3: Functions, Algebra and Calculus
- Functions, Relations and Graphs: Polynomial, exponential, logarithmic and trigonometric functions, and their transformations.
- Algebra, Number and Structure: Algebraic techniques for solving equations, including exponential and logarithmic equations.
- Calculus: Differentiation rules and their application to graphs, rates of change and optimisation.
Unit 4: Calculus and Probability
- Calculus: Anti-differentiation, definite integrals and the area under curves.
- Data Analysis, Probability and Statistics: Discrete and continuous random variables, the binomial and normal distributions, and sample proportions.

The TuteMax Approach
Whether you join our Weekly Group Classes or prefer 1-on-1 Private Tutoring, we provide a toolkit for success:
VCAA-Aligned Practice Exams: Our question sets are written to match the exact phrasing and difficulty of past VCE Mathematical Methods exam papers, not generic textbook problems.
Exam 1 Technique: Timed, technology-free drills build the algebraic fluency needed when the CAS is taken away.
CAS and Bound Reference Mastery: Students learn efficient CAS workflows and build a well-organised bound reference for Exam 2.
